Modern and Elizabethan Hairstyles - Plaits and Buns

Here are some modern style that denote the same style as Elizabethan hair as there is quite a lot of detail within the hairstyles and a lot of then include buns or plaits which make the styles look intricate and detailed. The first image denotes quite a sick and structured bun with lots of volume and with Hair pins within it to make it look aesthetically pleasing. The second hairstyle has a mixture of buns and plaits. This hairstyle is quite intricate and fits with the Elizabethan style as its very voluminous however its too slick and isn't something I would use to inspire me. This last hairstyle looks more delicate and would be a representation of how Elizabeth would have her hair before she became Queen.
Here are some more Elizabethan hairstyles that are more intricate and delicate. There is quite a lot of detail within these hairstyles which makes them aesthetically pleasing. If I was to design my own hairstyle it would probably be something like these ones as they are so detailed. The first one is more plait based and has ribbon and hair pins to decorate it to fit with the Elizabethan era. The second hairstyles is more to do with buns but also has a lot to it as the hair has been used to create almost a net to wrap around the bun. The third image is from an Elizabethan film which is quite voluminous and round as some can be heart shaped. The middle hairstyle is something i would like to try recreating as one of my designs as it looks very delicate and intricate.
Here are some images of my interpretation of Elizabethan hairstyles. I incorporated ribbon into the braids to fit with the Elizabethan Era. If I was to create or design another hairstyle it would be something more delicate and intricate as these hairstyle's don't fit with the era that well. The last image is of one of my first designs as I feel it is a nice mix between Modern and Elizabethan hair.
Also this design it used some of the techniques taught in the first few weeks such as the plaits and backcombing which gives the hair the height. These hairstyles were inspired by the Elizabethan and Modern hairstyles I looked at above as they are all voluminous and interpret plats into the hair subtly.
