The hair needs to be sections into two half's as two types of curls will be practised.
Ensure that the pieces of hair selected aren't too thick and the prices selected should be square as the first type of curl is supposed to be a spiral curl and needs to be thin.
After curling the hair it should be clipped with a curvy grip to secure the curl as it will cool down in the shape it is clipped in.
This type of curl is more for modern hairstyles and wouldn't typically be used if we was trying to create an elizabethan hairstyle. I feel I was able to recreate this type of curl with great ease as it came out how it was supposed to however I feel this type of curl would be wrong for the brief we have been given so wouldn't use it in my final design.
With this type of curl you need to ensure that not all the curls go in the same direction as it gives the hair more shape as the curls go different ways because if they went the same direction the curls would just join as one and you would lose the shape and curls all together which isn't the desired look. This type of curl keeps the length of the hair as you haven't got as much volume.
This type of curl is called a period curl and would be more suited for an Elizabethan hairstyle as the curls are more voluminous. Elizabethan hairstyles are very big and curly which is why this style of curling would typically be used. With this type of curling you must clip it up with curvy grips so that the hair can cool down in the right shape as if you just let it drop the curl won't stay for as long. With this i felt it was difficult changing the way i was curling the hair which is why both of the curls looked quite similar so this is something i will need to work on in my own time. I feel I was able to recreate this type of curl easily too as it wasn't that difficult and this type of curl could be used in my final design if I wanted any curls as this is more of a period curl.
